Theogate reports that the Red Sox will make no announcement about Theo over the weekend--leaving Monday, the last day of his contract, as the day of any announcement. I don't like this. If this is purely about money, the Sox ought to pay him what he wants. If it is about autonomy, Theo ought to know by now what he's getting into. But from both perspectives, the devil you know is worth sticking with.
