ESPN is reporting that the Red Sox will trade Hanley Ramirez, Anibal Sanchez and a PTBNL to the Marlins for Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell. This sounds terrific to me. Hanley has been talked about for so long that I kinda suspect those In The Know keep seeing something they don't like. Sanchez could be good, but we have a lot of young arms on the way, and you never get if you don't give up. (I'd rather keep Jon Lester, if forced to make the choice.) Lowell had a bad year last year but I thnk he's due for a rebound. Admittedly mixed feelings about the fact that that probably puts the kibosh on any possibility of signing Buelly again, though.
